How many lights can the new LED power supply handle?

admin

Answer
This unit is designed for use of up to 15 Integral LED fixtures associated with a cable run of less than 50′. If you have questions about your design and if this transformer will supply adequate voltage, please call our office at 800.861.1364.

How close can a fixture be mounted to the LED power supply?

admin

Answer
Fixtures can be positioned within 1′ to 50′ of the receptacle. This unit automatically adjusts the load, therefore eliminating any worry of overpowering a fixture mounted too close to the power supply.

Can I connect an Integral fixture directly to the power supply?

admin

Answer
Yes. A single fixture can be connected without the worry of overpowering the fixture.

Using the LED power supply, do I still use low voltage cable to the fixtures?

admin

Answer
Yes. Generally speaking, 12/2 gauge is fine. 14/2 gauge will be adequate since the load of the LED is much less than standard incandescent fixtures.

Can the LED power supply be mounted outdoors without a cover?

admin

Answer
The housing is weatherproof and the actual electronic transformer is encapsulated for protection.

Can I use this LED power supply for AC or DC lights?

admin

Answer
This power supply delivers 11.5vAC voltage. It is specified for AC fixtures only and is compatible with all Integral Lighting LED fixtures. If you purchased fixtures other than Integral Lighting please consult the manufacturer.

Do fixtures dim with further distances as with magnetic units?

admin

Answer
Yes. Longer runs of cable still affect the transmission of voltage. If this is the case and you require a longer run or the lights are too dim, you might consider a magnetic transformer in lieu of the electronic.

Do I need to take a voltage reading with the LED power supply?

admin

Answer
It’s not necessary. The electronic transformer automatically supplies a max of 11.5vAC and adjusts for the amount of demand. The actual output will vary depending on the amount of fixtures but will not exceed 11.5 vAC.

Does the new LED power supply require a minimum load to turn on?

admin

Answer
Electronic transformers typically require a minimum load to turn on. Our unit is designed to power a single fixture if that is what the job requires. With that being said, it also has limitations. This transformer is designed for use with 1-15 Integral LED fixtures and up to 50′ cable runs. For larger installations, you may consider using a magnetic transformer.

What is the purpose of an LED specific power supply?

admin

Answer

Many installations are quite compact and require only a few Integral fixtures.

The power supply is often plugged into the closest receptacle, whereby a typical magnetic transformer supplies excess voltage because of its close proximity to the LED fixtures. Our goal was to introduce a self regulating power supply for those LED specific installations and eliminate the headache of excess voltage.

Specify the new IL200.515 for those smaller installations.
